    The adult female humpback whale that stranded to death on May 28th, 2000 has been thought to be victim to a ship strike. The next day a response team, consisting of researchers, staff, and volunteers gave the whale a necropsy, which Lead them to believe the whale had had a bad encounter with a ship. The animal was found to have a fractured skull and ruptured urine. Some fetal bones were found in the abdominal cavity of the whale, so the researchers concluded it was no Wonder this whale died. To get some accurate results the response team collected samples that were sent to laboratories on the West Coast. The samples included DNA, contaminants, biotoxins, bacteria, parasitic infections and viruses.
